Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at Hogsback Arminel Hotel was a delightful escape into nature. The welcome drink and detailed property information set the tone for a seamless check-in process. The self-catering cottage was spacious, with two bedrooms each boasting modern bathrooms, perfect for a relaxed stay. The gas Weber and kitchen/dining table added a homely touch.Exploring the hotel's gardens revealed a serene swimming pool and tennis courts, with a plethora of bird species creating a peaceful soundtrack. The warm rooms offered garden views, with some featuring a wooden deck overlooking the majestic Amatola Mountains. The thatched-roof cottage exuded charm, featuring an open-plan lounge and kitchen, ideal for cozy evenings by the fireplace. The highlight of my stay was the attentive service - any issue reported was promptly addressed, ensuring a comfortable experience. The à la carte restaurant, bar, and lounge area with open fireplaces added to the inviting atmosphere. The shared kitchen and gift shop were convenient amenities that enhanced my stay.Despite the minor hiccup of a crowded breakfast on Saturday, the overall experience was exceptional. Hogsback Arminel Hotel managed to combine comfort, nature, and leisure seamlessly, making it a favorite destination in Hogsback. I would highly recommend it to fellow nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat in the heart of Eastern Cape. A truly memorable stay!
